About Freiburg Minster
The Freiburg Minster is a magnificent Gothic cathedral located in the heart of Freiburg im Breisgau. Construction began in the late 12th century and continued for several hundred years. The cathedral is known for its 116-meter-high tower, which is considered one of the most beautiful in Christian architecture. The tower's filigree openwork spire is a masterpiece of Gothic architecture. The cathedral survived the bombing of Freiburg during World War II almost unscathed, despite the destruction of much of the surrounding city. Today, it stands as a symbol of Freiburg and attracts visitors from around the world.
